1. What Material is 00Ni18Co12Mo4Ti2AI?
00Ni18Co12Mo4Ti2Al steel is a typical maraging steel, which is a kind of age-hardening plastic die steel. The carbon content of 00Ni18Co12Mo4Ti2Al steel is low. The impurities have a great influence on the properties of martensitic age-hardening steel, and the effect on the higher yield strength steel is more obvious.
This requires the steel to be vacuum smelted to reduce impurities, segregation, and air content in the ingot to ensure that the steel has better toughness and fatigue resistance.

3. 254SMO
254SMO is a high corrosion resistance super austenitic stainless steel, developed for halide and acid environments, widely used in high chloride ion media, seawater, and other harsh working conditions. In various industrial applications with acidic media, especially in acids containing halides, 254SMO is far superior to other stainless steels, and in some cases can be comparable to Hastelloy and titanium.
Low carbon content and high molybdenum content, so it has better resistance to spot corrosion and crevice corrosion resistance, excellent intergranular corrosion resistance, and is a cost-effective stainless steel, in the chemical industry, desulfurization and environmental protection and other fields widely used.
3.1 Main Components of 254SMO:
254SMO Carbon (C) 0.02 or less, Manganese (Mn) of 1.00 or less, Nickel (Ni) 17.5 ~ 18.5, Silicon (Si) of 0.8 or less, Phosphorus (P) of 0.03 or less, Sulfur (S) of 0.01 or less, Chromium (Cr) 19.5 ~ 20.5, Copper (Cu) 0.5 ~ 1.0, Molybdenum (Mo) 6.0 ~ 6.5.
Due to its high molybdenum content, it has a very high resistance to spot corrosion and crevice corrosion. This grade of stainless steel was developed for use in halogenated environments such as seawater. 254SMO also has good resistance to uniform corrosion. Especially in acids containing halides, the steel is superior to ordinary stainless steel. Its C contains 0.03%, so it is called pure austenitic stainless steel. (0.01% is also called super austenitic stainless steel).
Super stainless steel is a kind of special stainless steel that, first of all, is different from ordinary stainless steel in chemical composition, it refers to a high-alloy stainless steel containing high nickel, high chromium, and high molybdenum. One of the more famous is the 254SMo containing 6%Mo, this kind of steel has very good local corrosion resistance, in seawater, inflation, there are gaps, low-speed erosion conditions, has good pitting resistance (PI≥40) and better stress corrosion resistance is a substitute material for Ni-based alloys and titanium alloys.
Secondly, in the performance of high temperature or corrosion resistance, it has more excellent high temperature or corrosion resistance and is irreplaceable in 304 stainless steel. In addition, from the classification of stainless steel, the metallographic structure of special stainless steel is a stable austenitic metallographic structure.
Because this special stainless steel is a high-alloy material, it is quite complex in the manufacturing process, and generally people can only rely on traditional processes to manufacture this special stainless steel, such as perfusion, forging, calendaring, and so on.
