There are many varieties of stainless steel, 201, 304, 316L…their prices are quite different. The biggest difference is corrosion resistance. 304 has the best corrosion resistance and 201 has the worst corrosion resistance. Of course, the price difference is also large.
Poor quality stainless steel will discolor the surface after a long time of use, increase the staining rate, and is easy to be corroded and easy to breed bacteria.
It is also easy to distinguish the quality of stainless steel, just buy a bottle of “stainless steel measuring solution”. It is also called “stainless steel testing potion”, “manganese testing kit”, “manganese testing liquid” and so on.
The test method is: keep the surface of stainless steel clean and free of oil stains; drop a drop of measuring solution after removing the coating and observe the color change; compare the color of stainless steel or the time it takes to turn red to determine the stainless steel model.

After dropping the measuring solution, different stainless steels will have different reactions:
200 stainless steel (fake 201): it will turn red in about 5 seconds, and the red color will be the same as that on the color chart after 10 seconds.
201 stainless steel (authentic 201): It turns red in about 50 seconds, and its red color will be the same as that on the color chart.
202 stainless steel: It turns red in about 1 minute.
301 stainless steel: It turns red in about 3 minutes, and the color is very light. Please look carefully.
304 stainless steel: No change in 3 minutes, the color may become darker, but there is no red.
