The Use of Stainless Steel on the Refrigerator
Stainless steel materials are mainly used in the door panels and linings of refrigerators, as well as the linings of refrigerators. Since the refrigerator door needs to be in contact with the magnetic seal of the box at the edge, the material is required to be magnetic when selecting stainless steel. The 410S or 430 ferritic stainless steel is a magnetic stainless steel material and the refrigerator door is directly in contact with the air medium. The surface is required to be beautiful and easy to clean. Therefore, the material selected is mostly 0.6mm to 0.8mm 430/No.4 cold-rolled stainless steel plates. The surface of No.4 is surface processed with 180 mesh abrasive on the normal surface.
There is a misunderstanding about ferritic stainless steel in society. When selecting stainless steel products, people sometimes judge the corrosion resistance of the material by whether the material is magnetic or not. Therefore, 430 stainless steel with ferromagnetism is called stainless steel and is unwilling to use it. For manufacturing industries such as home appliances, tableware, and kitchenware, ferritic stainless steel can fully meet its required corrosion resistance, and there is no need to pursue higher-cost austenitic stainless steel.
The lining part of the refrigerator generally adopts different stainless steel materials according to the different processing methods and shapes. If the shape of the inner lining is simple and there is no requirement for welding connection, 430 stainless steel can be used; if the processing shape of the inner lining is complicated and more welding connections are required, it is generally recommended to use austenitic stainless steel with better corrosion resistance and machining performance, such as 304.
