Stainless Steel for Car Interior and Exterior Decoration
The corrosion resistance and aesthetics of stainless steel are favored by designers. A certain amount of stainless steel is used for interior and exterior decorative parts of automobiles, and many parts are made. These parts are not only decorative but also perform assembly and sealing functions.
(1) Stainless steel for exterior decoration (inlaid strips). The moldings used in places where wind, water, sand, and dust are required are generally made of stainless steel. It has both a sealing function and a decorative function. There are 20 or 30 kinds of such parts, and strict corrosion resistance is required to ensure their beauty during the warranty period. Places with sea breeze and roads with snow-melting salt have severe corrosion to automotive decorative parts, and the requirements for corrosion resistance of stainless steel are also extremely high. The chemical composition of the applied stainless steel is shown in the table below. Among them, SUS436L, 430J1L, and 436J1L have superior processing performance and better corrosion resistance.

(2) Other exterior parts. Other exterior parts such as license plates, light cabinets, sight glasses, trolley antennas, wheels, shock absorbers, suitcases, starters, etc., are all made of stainless steel required by each.
(3) Stainless steel for interior decoration.
1) Such as seat belt devices, after switching to SUS301 cold-rolled strip, the life span is increased and the passenger comfort is enhanced.
2) Inflatable buffer, booster pump (N generator), etc. are made of SUS304L stainless steel.
