The flat plate rusts on a large area, and the stainless steel company loses millions. Who is to blame?
Recently, a South China stainless steel decorative plate factory used 201 cold-rolled sheets to frosted rose gold but found that large areas of rust occurred. The decorative sheet manufacturers have no way to complain, but silently put the black spot on the back, and the bill for this is no less than one million.
Then why does the stainless steel plate get rusty after frosting and rose gold plating, and there are still so many companies recruited at the same time? Is it a material problem, a process problem, or other problems?
In fact, as soon as the rust problem appeared, the first thought of many board factories was that the materials they bought were defective.
Since the dispute between J1 and J3 occurred last year, J3 has quickly become popular in the market due to its lower price than J1 and higher quality than intermediate frequency furnace materials. As a high-carbon, low-chromium, and low-copper material, J3 is suitable for simple decorative pipes. However, the process of producing decorative panels involves more process surface processing, and the use of J3 will cause many derivative problems.
Therefore, it seemed reasonable for the manufacturer to think of the material problem at the first time, but immediately some decorative board factories expressed dissatisfaction. The specially selected 304 flat plates were frosted from a large steel factory in South China and directly plated with rose gold for proofing to the customer. After only one night, the sample showed spots. …
In this way, it does not seem to be a material issue. In addition, many board manufacturers said that the problem of rusting after the sand plate was plated with rose gold or titanium is not unique today. It occurred a few years ago, but it has been concentrated again recently, which has a greater impact. And even if 304 is used for such a process, no matter what the place of production, this will happen.
Could that be a problem with craftsmanship? Matting, cleaning, plating…Which link will go wrong?
After communicating with the decorative board manufacturers, these links were eliminated.
So what is the cause of this large-scale rust problem? How to avoid similar problems? Because of the wide application of decorative materials, more and more users have put forward higher requirements for quality. Only by continuously pursuing process innovation and quality improvement can board factories avoid customer loss. Once such a large area of rust occurs, all efforts may be in vain.
In fact, to avoid such problems, we still have to start with both materials and craftsmanship, with both hands grasping and both hands hard.
In terms of materials, try to choose materials from steel mills with quality assurance. Although the quality of stainless steel plates has been declining in recent years, the material security of strong steel plants is definitely good! Once the unqualified materials are obtained, the experience of the board dealers will definitely repeat itself again.
In terms of technology, after the sand plate is plated with rose gold, it must be applied with anti-fingerprint technology. A board factory said that in order to avoid trouble, even if the customer is unwilling to do fingerprints, although it will increase the cost, it will sometimes send this process.
Of course, if following technological innovations, such problems maybe a piece of cake! We look forward to the early arrival of this day.
