The harm of stainless steel screw failure
Generally, carbon steel and alloy steel bolts fail when there are obvious corrosion products and thinning on the surface, while stainless steel screws lose their strength when there is almost no change on the surface, causing serious damage to the structure or equipment. Its failure is more concealed and harmful.
Anti-corrosion measures for stainless steel screws
1. Use qualified stainless steel screws to avoid gaps in the structural design and avoid geometric conditions that are prone to surface deposition;
2. Effectively isolate the stainless steel screw from the Cl-containing aqueous solution. If the gap cannot be avoided, the anti-corrosion effect of stainless steel screw should be introduced to understand that welding or gap filling should be used to prevent the aqueous solution from entering;
3. Use stainless steel materials containing high chromium and high molybdenum, especially in low-temperature tank areas, spherical tank areas, and areas with severe stress corrosion, using steel with good corrosion resistance for better results.
