Stainless Steel Sinks and faucets are stainless steel products that are necessary for daily life at home. Keeping them clean is to ensure our health, but mold and rust will still appear. How should we keep them clean?
First, Sink
1. Reasons:
1) During the kitchen decoration process, welding debris, cement, oil stains, etc. remain on the surface of the sink. Failure to clean them in time may cause rust and mold;
2) The water quality in many areas of our country is poor. In addition, most of the water pipes are galvanized pipes, and the content of iron and other elements in the water is high. After the sink is used, if there are more water stains, the iron in the water will rust over time, especially for new house decoration. If long-term residual water in the water pipe leaves water stains on the sink and is not cleaned in time, it is easy to cause “floating rust”;
3) Sometimes, the newly renovated house with mineral or acid or alkaline dust falling on the surface of the sink will cause “floating rust”;
4) Steel items such as kitchen knives, scissors, and corkscrews are placed on the surface of the sink for a long time, which will cause “floating rust”, mold or discoloration;
5) Chemical agents, cleaning agents, paints, sauces, oil stains, etc. remain in the sink. Over time, mold will stick to the surface of the sink.
2. Prevention and treatment methods:
1) If you are a newly renovated user, it is recommended that the sink be installed last. Before installation, the long-term residual water in the water pipe must be drained. After the installation is completed, the sink should be thoroughly rinsed, and a layer of maintenance can be applied to the appearance of the sink before moving in. Oil, so that it can effectively avoid metal debris in the decoration process to produce floating rust. In addition, if the water tank is not used for a long time, a layer of oil can also be applied to the water tank to protect the water tank.
2) Frequently clean the sink with a neutral detergent. After cleaning, it should be completely cleaned with water. At the same time, the cleaning process should be gentle. Never use a steel brush or rough brush. After washing, use a sponge or rag to dry.
3) Do not put lemons, sauces, kimchi, mustard, or other salt-rich or aggressive foods in the sink and on the panel for a long time, and do not pour them into the sink to prevent them from corroding the sink.
4) The sink should avoid long-term contact with strong bleach, household chemicals, and soap.
5) Avoid sharp and hard utensils such as knives, forks, cooking utensils, etc. from hitting the sink to prevent scratches or bumps in the appearance of the sink.
6) Do not place low-carbon steel or cast iron cooking utensils in the sink for a long time and do not leave rubber dishwashing tablets, wet dishwashing sponges or other cleaning pads in the sink to avoid the formation of “floating rust” and “mildew” in the long run. Spot” and so on.
7) If the sink appears “floating rust”, “mildew spots”, etc., use five cleansing powders or toothpaste to apply to the rust and spots, and wipe them with a rag. Be sure not to use scouring wire, polishing pads, or polishing materials Clean the sink.
Second, the leading
1. Uneven or small water output: It may be caused by the faucet mesh mouth (spout or bubbler). Due to water quality problems, the water stains inside have gathered in the mesh mouth and blocked; the solution is: take out the water mesh mouth, Use a waste toothbrush to clean it; there is another possibility that the water inlet hose of the faucet is blocked by water stains. The solution is to take out the water inlet hose and clean it.
2. Can’t shut off the water: there must be something wrong with the valve core, you can take out the red and blue markings, use a hexagonal tool to remove the faucet handle, and replace the valve core (this is generally better handled by professionals or manufacturers).
3. The chrome-plated layer on the surface of the faucet becomes flowery or water mist appears: the method is to wipe off the water with a dry cloth and clean it with vinegar.
Special note: Do not use the steel wire to scrub the surface of the faucet!
