Instructions for use of stainless steel chemical composition determination solution

Welcome to use stainless steel chemical composition determination solution. Before using this determination solution, please read this manual carefully. It will let you quickly grasp the performance and operation method of this determination solution and bring convenience to your work.

Requirements:

1. The surface of stainless steel must be cleaned (greasy dirt, dust, surface oxide skin, etc.) and can be smoothed with a file or a grinder. Otherwise, large errors will be caused and the measurement results will be inaccurate.

2. The battery should maintain sufficient power (sufficient power is a prerequisite to ensure the full progress of the electrolysis reaction). If the battery is found to be insufficient, it should be replaced in time.

3. The positive electrode (+) of the battery is connected to the metal surface, and the negative electrode (-) is connected to the measuring solution, and the battery is instantly energized and oxidized. Do not touch the negative electrode to the stainless steel during operation, and the power-on time must be controlled (stop immediately when the color appears), otherwise, it is easy to cause errors.

4. The measuring solution cannot be too much or too little, it must be dripped into a small drop of water.

Ni qualitative determination solution: This product is the nemesis of fake stainless steel, and can quickly determine the approximate range of nickel content in stainless steel products.

Operation method: Drop a small drop of the test liquid on the surface of the metal to be tested, and the color of the drop will change after being energized and oxidized instantaneously. Leave it for a while (about 1 minute) until the color of the drop is stable, and observe its phenomenon.

1. If there is no rose red, it will directly generate light yellow or light white, indicating that the material does not contain Ni content;

2. If rose red is generated and faded to light yellow, it indicates that the material contains Ni<2.5%;

3. If rose red is generated and does not fade, it indicates that the material contains Ni ≥2.5%; after a while, observe the color depth, if the drop is pale rose red and slightly yellow, it means 2.5%≤Ni≤5.5%; if No yellowing, Ni>5.5%; the darker and brighter the rose red, the higher the Ni content.

Low Ni determination solution: This low Ni determination solution is used for the professional determination of true and false stainless steel. Mainly used to determine 200, 201, 202 series low Ni high Mn steel.

Operation method: drop a small drop of the test solution on the surface of the metal to be tested, and instantly energize and oxidize,

Rose-red is formed and does not fade, indicating that the material contains Ni <2% and Mn≥6%.

Ni 2 measuring liquid: drop a small drop of measuring liquid on the surface of the metal to be measured, and instantly energize and oxidize,

1. If there is no rose red, it will directly generate light yellow or light white, indicating that the material contains Ni<2%;

2. If the rose-red complex is formed and does not fade, it indicates that the material contains Ni≥2%. Note that the oxidation will stop when there is a color when the power is on, and the color is generally lighter.

Ni 4 measuring solution: This product is mainly used to measure 201 and 202 materials.

Operation method: drop a small drop of the test solution on the surface of the metal to be tested, and instantly energize and oxidize,

1. If there is no rose red, it will directly generate light yellow or light white, indicating that the material contains Ni<3.5%;

2. If the rose-red complex is formed and does not fade, it indicates that the material contains Ni≥3.5%. Note that the oxidation will stop when there is a color when the power is on, and the color is generally lighter.

 Ni 6 measuring solution: This product is mainly used for measuring 301 materials;

Operation method: drop a small drop of the test solution on the surface of the metal to be tested, and instantly energize and oxidize,

1. If the rose red-complex compound is formed and does not fade, it indicates that the material contains Ni≥5.5%; pay attention to the color of electrified oxidation and stop, generally, the color is lighter.

2. If there is no rose red, it will directly produce light yellow or light white, indicating that the material contains Ni <5.5%.

Ni 8 measuring solution: This product is mainly used to measure 304 materials;

Operation method: drop a small drop of the test solution on the surface of the metal to be tested and oxidize with electricity. The product is slightly longer than other products when it is oxidized with electricity, and stops when the oxidation color appears.

1. If a red complex is formed and does not fade, it indicates that the material contains Ni¡Ý7.5%; generally, the color is lighter.

2. If there is no red, light yellow, or light white is directly generated, indicating that the material contains Ni <7.5%.

Mo 2 measuring solution: This product is often used for 316 materials and 2080 high-temperature alloy materials;

Operation method: drop a small drop of the test solution on the surface of the metal to be tested, and instantly energize and oxidize,

1. If the rose-red complex is formed and does not fade, it indicates that the material contains Mo≥ 2%;

2. If the red complex is formed and faded immediately, it indicates that the material does not contain Mo;

3. If the rose bengal complex is formed and fades to dark yellow immediately, it indicates that the material contains Mo<2%.

4. If there is no red color, green complexes are quickly formed, indicating that the material is a 2080 superalloy material.

Note: The red complexes of Ni5Mo3 and Ni7Mo2 do not fade, but these two materials are not 316 materials. The real 316 materials are non-magnetic, and these two materials are very magnetic.

In addition (904L) 00Cr23Ni23Mo4Cu does not fade.

Ni14 test solution: This product is mainly used to test 309 materials;

Operation method: drop a small drop of the test solution on the surface of the metal to be tested, and instantly energize and oxidize,

1. If the rose-red complex is formed and does not fade, it indicates that the material contains Ni¡Ý12%;

2. If there is no rose red, light yellow, or light white is directly generated, indicating that the material contains Ni <12%.

Ni20 test solution: This product is mainly used to test 310 materials;

Operation method: drop a small drop of the test solution on the surface of the metal to be tested, and instantly energize and oxidize,

1. If yellow is generated, it indicates that the material contains nickel <14%;

2. If old yellow is formed, it indicates that the material contains about 14% nickel;

3. If a rose-red complex is formed, it indicates that the material contains about 20% nickel, which reaches the 310 standards;

4. If a pink complex is formed, it indicates that the material contains about 35% nickel;

5. If there are light black spots on the surface of rose-red steel, it indicates that the material contains about 60% nickel;

6. If there are heavy black spots on the surface of rose-red steel, it indicates that the material contains about 70% nickel;

7. If green and red are generated, it indicates that the material is constantan

Ni40 test solution: determine whether the nickel content of stainless steel reaches over 32%

Operation method: drop a small drop of the test solution on the surface of the metal to be tested, and instantly energize and oxidize,

1. If the rose-red complex is formed and does not fade, it indicates that the material contains nickel≥32%;

2. If it is colorless, it means that the material contains nickel <32%

Ni60 test solution: determine whether the nickel content of stainless steel reaches 52% or more

Operation method: drop a small drop of the test solution on the surface of the metal to be tested, and instantly energize and oxidize,

1. If the rose-red complex is formed and does not fade, it indicates that the material contains nickel ≥ 52%;

If it is colorless, it means that the material contains nickel <52%

Ti determination solution: determine whether stainless steel contains titanium, mainly used to determine 321 materials;

Operation method: drop a small drop of the test solution on the surface of the metal to be tested, and instantly energize and oxidize,

2. After energizing, observe the color after half a minute. If it is dark wine red, it indicates that the material contains titanium;

Blue test solution: Drop a small drop of test solution on the surface of the metal to be tested. After a few seconds, if the color changes to rose red, it indicates that the material does not contain nickel; if it does not change color, it indicates that the material contains nickel. Other test solution tests.

Precautions:

1. This product is a chemical composition test liquid, which is corrosive. When it touches the skin, it should be rinsed immediately with plenty of water, and stored in a cool, out of reach of children when not in use.

2. Do not replace the cap of the test solution bottle during use to avoid failure.

3. For alloys with coating on the surface, the coating must be cleaned before use.

4. For alloys whose surface temperature is too high, they must be cooled before they can be used.

5. When retesting the steel body with the test solution, it must be replaced or the original test point must be cleaned; at the same time, the negative line fluid of the battery must be wiped clean before it can be used.
