Case Study:
After inspection, this batch of products is a batch of double-sided 8K film 304 plates processed outside the company, a total of 200 plates, after tearing off the film, there is residual glue on the board surface. This batch of boards is processed from 8K to the customer. It is abnormal for 5 days to experience degumming.
First, consider whether the quality of the film is a problem. According to the external processing unit, the quality of the film supplier is stable, and such a situation has not been found before. Inspect the remaining unused film and found no abnormalities.
Excluding the cause of the glue film, the complainant re-observed the stainless steel plate. There was still a lot of iron-red powder remaining on the surface of the plate. From this, it can be analyzed that the cleaning of the batch of steel plates is not in place, that is to say, the grinding fluid is left on the steel plate.
The company’s 8K slurry is made of iron oxide red, nitric acid, and water, so the remaining slurry contains nitric acid. Nitric acid is an oxidizing acid that can react with the organic matter in the adhesive layer on the adhesive film, resulting in the thinning of the adhesive layer. It remains on the steel plate when the adhesive film is peeled off.
In addition, it was August, when the temperature was as high as 38 degrees, which accelerated the reaction of nitric acid with the glue layer.
It is not uncommon for the film to have residual glue, and the complainants have dealt with many such quality objections. Some are of poor quality, and some are improperly used.
This case is caused by improper use. The procedure of the outsourcing company double-sided grinding 8K is to grind one side first, turn it over, and grind the other side after applying the film so that the first ground side is immersed in the grinding fluid and cannot be completely cleaned during cleaning. This causes the grinding fluid to remain, leading to the occurrence of degumming.

Due to the serious degumming phenomenon and the large quantity, it is difficult to clean with organic solvents. Therefore, the customer complainant suggested that this batch of flat plates should be returned to the company and the film should be peeled off and ground again.
