According to the Yonhap news agency, the Trade Commission of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce resources of Korea decided to investigate anti-dumping investigations on Stainless steel rebars imported from Taiwan and Italy on the 17th.
The committee will impose a certain amount of anti-dumping duties on stainless steel rebars originating in two places if the final ruling that the stainless steel rebars imported from the above two places are dumping facts and cause losses to the related industries of South Korea.
Stainless steel rebars are widely used in sophisticated industries, auto parts, and building materials. According to reports, in 2016, the size of South Korea’s domestic market is 340 billion won (about 3.15 million US dollars), of which Taiwan, Italy produced stainless steel rebars are 17%, and South Korea accounts for 56%.
It is reported that some South Korean companies believe that the cheap stainless steel rebars imported from Taiwan and Italy have caused huge economic losses to South Korean enterprises, and therefore put forward the anti-dumping investigation application to the Trade Commission.
