Analysis of Surface Treatment Process of Stainless Sink
Stainless sinks are used more and more widely in modern life. People use sinks in the kitchen work up to 80% of the time. People like its beautiful metal, gentle touch, and pay more attention to its anti-rust, anti-corrosion, and anti-friction functions.
The easiest to understand and distinguish the surface treatment process of the sink is the mirror surface process, the drawing process, and the pearl surface process.
The mirror surface treatment process is the simplest in the sink surface treatment process. The main method is to continuously polish the sink surface to make the sink surface smooth and clean like a mirror. However, the mirror surface sink is prone to scratches and abrasions during use, which is not suitable for general household use.
Brushed noodles are also called mercerized noodles, which are currently the most commonly used surface treatment process for sinks. The process of drawing the surface is to use drawing equipment to draw repeatedly on the surface of the sink. It produces a series of fine silk marks on its surface, and it is also very smooth, and it has a strong affinity for the hand and vision. However, because the brushed surface sink makes the surface of the sink feel like silk marks, you can’t scratch it with a steel wire ball, which will damage the surface of the sink.
Pearl noodles are also called pearl silver noodles, matte noodles, and pearl matte noodles. It is formed by treating the surface with a chemical electrolyte similar to electroplating. The surface treatment process is simple, the technical content is small, and the production cost is low. The prices of the manufactured products are also relatively low, and they are widely favored for their high quality and low price. But this kind of surface is not scratch-resistant, it is easy to produce scratches, and severely, the coating will fall off.
There are also two other water tank surface treatment processes that are easy to be confuse, namely the crystal shot blasting process and the sandblasting process.
Sandblasting is a method that uses compressed air as power to form a high-speed jet beam to blow out the quartz sand at high speed to clean the surface of the part. It can change the appearance or shape of the outer surface of the workpiece surface. Due to the impact and cutting action of the abrasive on the surface of the workpiece, the surface of the workpiece can obtain a certain degree of cleanliness and different roughness, and the mechanical properties of the workpiece surface can be improved. Therefore, the fatigue resistance of the workpiece is improved.
Crystal shot blasting uses a motor to drive the impeller body to rotate and uses centrifugal force to throw small steel shots or small iron shots out to hit the surface of the part at a high speed, so the oxide layer on the surface can be removed. At the same time, the steel shot or iron shot hits the surface of the part at a high speed, causing the crystal lattice on the surface of the part to be distorted and deformed, which increases the surface hardness.
It can be said that sandblasting only changes the appearance of the parts, and shot peening not only changes the appearance of the parts but also changes the organization and new mechanical capabilities of the parts. The crystal shot blasting process can significantly improve the fatigue strength of the material, and it is almost used in most fields of machinery, such as auto parts, aircraft parts, guns, and tanks, etc.
Therefore, it can also be said that the crystal shot blasting process is the most ideal water tank surface treatment process.
