Stainless Steel Pad Paper Knowledge ABC

Backing paper is very important for stainless steel, especially cold-rolled stainless steel, whether it is a steel coil or a steel plate, it is necessary to place a backing paper. The purpose is very clear, which is to protect the surface of the stainless steel plate.

Because compared to ordinary carbon steel, the surface requirements of stainless steel are very high, and there should be no scratches, bumps, or creases because these will cause the product to be scrapped. At this time, the protective effect of the pad paper on the board surface is shown.

However, it is precisely because of the very high requirements on the surface of stainless steel, the following points should be paid attention to when selecting and using pad paper:

1. Choose good craft paper

Generally speaking, the quality of the paper recovered from the steel coil is acceptable, but during the recycling process, the paper may be wrinkled, or the tape connection may overlap, etc., which may affect the board surface;

2. Don’t use damp paper

If the water content of the paper is too high, it may stick to the surface of the board, and it will be difficult to remove it if it takes too long;

3. The pad paper should be flat

In the process of opening the plate, especially the thin plate (below 0.4mm), you must pay attention to the flatness of the pad paper. Any wrinkle of a piece of paper will bring paper pressure marks to the thin plate;

4. The pad paper should not be too narrow

If the paper is used for slitting rolls, the paper should be too wide rather than too narrow. The thickness of the paper that is too narrow will have a great impact on the winding.
