Increased by NT$2,500 per metric ton, Yelian rais the price of stainless steel in January
Affected by the rising price of nickel and other raw materials and the recovery of demand, Taiwan stainless steel factory Yulian announced on the 26th that it will increase the price of hot and cold-rolled stainless steel coils in January next year. The price attached to the product is subject to individual negotiation; the export price is increased by 50-100 US dollars per metric ton, ending the decline since December. Tang Rong, a stainless steel factory, is expected to offer a price for January on the 28th, which is expected to follow up and increase, and the increase is expected to be close to Yelian.
In January, Yelian’s domestic sales price of 304 stainless steel products increased by NT$2,500 per metric ton, and that of 430 products increased by NT$1,500 per ton. The export price of 304 stainless steel rose by US$100 per metric ton, that of 430 products increased by US$50-80, and that of 316L products was also negotiated individually.
Yelian said that the price of raw materials such as nickel, chromium, and scrap stainless steel has risen sharply recently, especially since the price of molybdenum has increased even more, which has pushed up the production cost of steel mills. Moreover, the demand in the international market is currently recovering, end customers are increasing their efforts to replenish inventory, and transactions are becoming more and more intense. Based on market and cost considerations, Yulian decided to moderately increase the prices of various products for domestic and foreign sales.
